Internfest in Prague with WSA Europe

During this past fall semester, I came to the conclusion that my favorite “big city” had to be Prague. It completely surpassed all my expectations and it really was a magical city. Every time I passed through the old town square I would fall in love with the city all over again. Somehow this city is able to capsulate a fairytale feeling, while still being much larger than a quaint village, and that’s what I love about it.

With my twin sister Niki studying abroad this semester, I knew I had to take her to see Prague for herself. The perfect opportunity arose when our internship with Weekend Student Adventures (WSA) Europe planned a weekend meetup and it just happened to be in Prague.

That weekend, several interns met up in Prague to experience how WSA Europe runs their student tour company as well as meet up with some of the company leaders.  After interning with WSA Europe since the fall semester, I could not wait to finally meet everyone and see how it all works first hand.  The other interns were so much fun and by the end of the weekend I felt like I had known them for months.

The tour itself was even better than expected. Our local guide Adi was so much fun. He really catered the tour to what we wanted to do and we still got to see so much. The hostel where we stayed was more of a dorm style hotel and in a perfect location. I really had not one complaint with the tour. Even though I had already been to Prague, having a structured tour guide like this was so helpful in managing our time.  I really felt like I got to do so much more.

We had an awesome time touring through the city, eating the best goulash around (my fave), and experiencing Prague’s grungy and low key nightlife. The nightlife is something I really love about Prague. Unlike Barcelona, this city has many unique underground bars and smaller clubs, which is a lot more my style. Also the drinks are ridiculously cheap which was definitely an added bonus.

So all in all, we had an incredible weekend with WSA in Prague. Would I recommend it to other study abroad students? Absolutely! In fact, I cannot wait until our next trip with them. Here are some highlights from this fantastic weekend!
