Relax at Platja Canadell and Platja Port Bo
The beaches are the main attraction here, and honestly, they’re gorgeous.
Platja Canadell and Platja Port Bo are probably the most iconic beaches in town. These are the postcard-perfect stretches of sand you’ll constantly see in photos of Calella.
Port Bo is especially famous for its old fishing boats and the beautiful Les Voltes arches lining the waterfront.
During summer, the atmosphere here feels straight out of a movie. I recommend reserving a table at one of the many seaside restaurants and spending all day right in town.

One of my favorite things to do near Calella de Palafrugell is visiting Cap Roig Gardens.
The Cap Roig Botanical Garden sits dramatically above the coastline with panoramic views over the Mediterranean. Between the gardens, sculptures, cliffs, and sea views, it’s honestly one of the prettiest spots on Costa Brava.

- Go ceramic shopping in Brisbal: Brisbal is a nearby town famous for its artisanal ceramics. If you have a car, stop here and pick up some Costa Brava souvenirs.
- Mooma Sidraria:Now you will need a car to get here, but it’s definitely worth it. Mooma Sidraria is an apple orchard with a beautiful restaurant right on property. I always recommend visitors to come here for lunch to do something a bit different in the area.

Summer is obviously the most popular time to visit Calella in Spain.
July and August bring warm beach weather, lively restaurants, and a vibrant atmosphere in town. With that being said, I actually love late May, June, and September even more.
